The company has partnered with artists including BTS, Charli XCX, Kacey Musgraves, Lauv, Megan Thee Stallion, Mimi Webb, Tai Verdes, Xamã and others to allow Spotify users to merge their musical tastes into a single Blend playlist where their own favorite tracks are matched with those from the artists. Today, Spotify says it will expand Blend to allow users to create playlists with up to 10 people, or even with some of their favorite artists. This Blend then updates daily with new songs based on everyone's listening habits.
The feature currently allows two Spotify users to see where their musical tastes overlap by mixing together their favorite songs to find those they have in common. I’m sure there is a reasonable explanation to this but I’ve got no idea what it is.Spotify's popular playlist creation tool, Blend, is getting its biggest update since its offiical launch last year. He has no other Spotify blends saved to his playlists for anyone but me (at least that I can see). The dude follows tens of thousands of people, most if not all of which (by a quick scroll) seem to be artists rather than random profiles. Anyways, I am really lost as to how that happened. I know for a fact its my profile attached and not someone else with my name because my profile picture is the one showing up in the playlists. Honestly, I didn’t even know Spotify did those kinds of blends). Not the blend between his profile and mine, by my profile and a few Star Wars characters (I think they were Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, and Darth Vader. I clicked on his profile just to see who he was and I saw that multiple of my Spotify generated blends were showing up under his profile playlists. Anyways, the other day I was on my Spotify and I noticed that I had a new follower I didn’t recognize.
None of my playlists have very many likes and I’ve got less than 20 followers, almost all of which I know personally. So to preface this, I am no kind of popular on Spotify.
